Fall Trip to Becker Farms

I'm so excited to tell you about our excursion that my little family took this last week. My husband and I decided to take a visit to see his family in Buffalo, New York. We also wanted to trade in our palm trees and experience some Fall foliage. Down in northeast Florida, we don't usually feel or see the seasons change. It's normally one temperature all year round, HOT!

While visiting we decided to do a little apple picking. I have been wanting to do this for years. Making my own apple pie with apples my family picked would be so authentic. Apple picking and Fall seem to go hand in hand. We headed out to Becker Farms and Vineyard in Gasport, NY.

They had hayrides, pumpkin patches, apple pickin, homemade donuts, fudge, live bands and everything imaginable on this farm.

We started off stopping in the Apple Barn for some hot cider and donuts. Oh my!

We picked apples, apples and more apples.

They had an awesome Apple Barn that was filled with apples, potatoes, onions and pumpkins.

Then, we headed over to the bonfire area and had hay fights. I grew up on a farm and all  this brought back so many memories. Our little niece was such a sport and ensured everyone got their fair share of hay down their shirt.

Through elevators, hotels rooms, security and two flights, did I  mention my apples made it back to Florida in one piece? A few of them got bruised, but you will never be able to tell once I cook them up!

We just enjoyed the Fall feeling in the air, crisp breezes and all that Fall has to offer up north! Can't wait until next year!

Our Weekend Get Away

My husband and I needed some quality time together and decided to drive up to Beaufort, SC for the weekend. He retired from the Marine Corps back in 2007 and was familiar with this area, as he went to boot camp on Parris Island back in 1987.

We researched quaint places to stay and came across this wonderful bed and breakfast. Neither of us had ever experienced a bed and breakfast at this point. It was the most wonderful experience. Quaint and cozy, personal and pleasing.

View driving down Bay Street

Two Suns Inn, Bed and Breakfast is where we chose to stay.

This is the view from our porch at the Inn.

We drove downtown and parked. We visited all the antique and coffee shops. We enjoyed really good, fresh seafood.

My favorite place was this little quaint coffee shop right on the water.

We also visited the Carolina Cherry Company. It had everything you could have wanted from pies, cobblers, cider and anything canned. We came home with strawberry jam, sweet potato butter, onion relish, bread and butter pickles and caramalized peacans.

We relaxed by the water and enjoyed the swings and just had a wonderful time.

Now...Its back to reality.

***Happy 16th to my Sweet Boy***

It's official my baby is 16! I'm so honored to be his mother and so proud of the young man he has become. We celebrated with a little party this weekend in honor of his milestone!

I made this simple cake and added gumballs to bring in some color.

I stayed with a circus theme. Candy, peanuts and popcorn.
