What we're eating this week...

I have it twice already. Newk's grilled chicken caesar salad is the best caesar I've ever tasted. 

Panera isn't too bad with the new soup bowls they have created.

Our New House!

We've searched high and low and just can't find the perfect one! We're still staying with my mom, which is actually fun, but we're ready to have our own space again!

PLEXUS! It's worked wonders for me! No more acid reflux, heartburn or anxiety! And significant Weight Loss. 

What we've been up to?

Building fires. My son was on YouTube and seen an inverted fire. This baby burned hotter and last for such a long time!

Then, we have this beauty! She's taking Senior Pictures. She was chosen to model for the photography company. We are so blessed to get that session FREE!

 While she was busy posing, I took a few pictures of God's Beauty!

Valentine's Day decor. I purchased these cute little heart expresso mugs from Williams Sonoma. Although I meant to order that larger ones, these were too cute not to keep!

Adding a simple print to a nice frame is a way to incorporate "holidays"  into your everyday decor!

The Target dollar spot gets me every time. I picked up just about everything in the photo at the dollar spot.

I also purchased this wooden heart from the Target dollar spot. I added some ribbon from Michael's and a little bit if faux baby's breath to make a cute holiday door hanger.

Friday Favorites

Happy Friday! I'm so happy today is here! Whew, this week at work is tough. You know that first week after vacation? Yes, luckily I made it!

It's finally cold enough in Florida to wear a scarf. Well, at least it was for a couple of days. It's supposed to get in the mid 70's for the next few days until another cold front comes in. My mom and I headed to a bridal shower!

We struck a fire and ordered chili's take out! Not sure what beats take out by fireside!

Christmas 2015

I hope you all had a wonderful Christmas! I think we had one of the best ones yet! I lost both of my grandmother's this year, only two months apart. It's surely not the same without her smiling face to help celebrate!

We are living with my mother currently until we move into our house. It was so much fun to go to bed on Christmas Eve and then wake up all together Christmas morn.

Christmas is a time of visiting with family and friends. When you've lost some of the ones you love most, you have to focus solely on the reason for the season, JESUS! 

We started our festivities the weekend before Christmas in St. Augustine, FL at the Nights of Lights. It was cold and we were enjoying it.

We enjoyed dinner and then headed out to the heart of town. Trams and Carriages lined the streets, while Christmas music played throughout! It felt like Christmas!

 We were late to our carriage ride and didn't want to wait two more hours, so we walked the town. 

Then, we come to Christmas Eve! Santa brought the waffle iron I've been wanting. We made waffles and enjoyed each other before we heading out for those last minute items.

A Williams Sonoma Christmas is always so much fun!

We enjoyed riding around looking at Christmas lights. My nephew is almost 3 and he was such a joy this year! Everything was so exciting to him.

Christmas Eve before bedtime. He was getting ready for Santa!

CHRISTMAS MORNING!!! Santa came!!!

Mama reminding us to Never forget the Reason for the Season, JESUS! We sang Happy Birthday to Jesus!

We enjoyed the rest of the day. Relaxing and eating a hearty meal with family! I hope you all had a very Merry Christmas!

Homemade Laundry Detergent - (Powered)

I have been reading about this powered laundry detergent on so many blogs lately. Seems everyone is putting their own spin on it. I used this in the past for quite sometime, however, mine was liquid. I can't tell you the agony I went through trying to dissolve the bar of soap. That is the only reason I stopped making my own. I really enjoyed that it last for about 7-8 months and only cost me around $20 for all the ingredients. I thought how easy would it be to DIY my own "powered" detergent. Hey! That means I don't have to stand over a hot stove and stir, stir and stir.

I went to Wal-Mart and purchased the ingredients to make my own again. This is what I opted to put together to make mine.

My Homemade Laundry Soap 

1~ 4lb 12 oz box of Borax

1~ 4 lb box of Arm And Hammer Baking Soda

1~ 3 lb 7 oz box of Arm and Hammer Super Washing Soda

1~ 1.3lb  container Oxy Clean - no perfumes

2 bars Fels Naptha Soap, grated or use your ninja

2 containers Downy Un Stopables 

Mix all the ingredients in a large container. This recipes makes a huge amount of laundry soap!

I put about a 1/4 of the soap in a big glass jar and made a pretty label for it. I purchased this cool jar from Target to store it in while using. I used the Martha Stewart chalkboard labels to make it my own. They work perfectly for this use.

I've read where you are to use about 2 tablespoons per load. I use about 3, and add them directly into the tub/drum. I also add vinegar to the dispenser for bleach.
